Fake Patches: This One Takes The Cake...

Out of all of the fake patches, autos, and relics I've seen, this is just absolutely awful. If you have the guts to make fake patches, which I personally think is totally wrong and immoral, then at least make an honest effort. Unless you've lived under a rock and know nothing about sports or have the unfortunate lifestyle of being Amish (only kidding, I have nothing against Amish people or the life they choose to live [not that they'll read this anyways]), this, my kind sir, is a hockey patch...on a baseball card...just think about that for a minute...let that settle in. Does the seller of this card think he can pull one over on us? I mean really; I'm pretty sure anyone with a 2nd grade reading level can identify that there is clearly something wrong with this card.
Although this might be the worst so far, I wouldn't be surprised if someone attempts to put a patch of the years following the 2005 release of this product...oh wait.

Credit to "" for the photos.
As you can clearly see, the patch makes out some of the word "world champs". And since world series patches handed out to both teams in the series don't prematurely say "champions" on them, and there is clearly the marks of an "A" from champions, AND the Cardinals didn't win a world series until 2006, almost two years after this product was released. Not to mention the patch below vanishes any hint of doubt about the authenticity of the patch.

I finally got this card in and it looks so much cooler in person. On the shinyness scale, I would give it 10/10.

Gift Cards

The final cards I recieved while I was gone were birthday presents. The Youk silk was a single, but the Youk base came from a team set. I also got 2 jumbo pack in which I pulled the Lincecum, which is a case hit. I was so excited when I pulled the Lincecum.

I also got another Youk auto that hasn't come in the mail yet, but I will keep you posted. This is a sick card!!! As a side note, I also got a Red Sox on feild hat and a Youk shirt.

LCS Trips

Over the past coulple of weeks, I have gone to 2 sports cards stores. First, I went to Greater Boston Tickets, which is practically brand new. They were just starting out, so inventory was low, but they still had a good amount of stuff. The owner was very friendly, and after making a purchase, you can shoot a nerf basketball to win a free card. I bought a couple of Youk cards, and some packs. These are the highlights, and the Youks(some pulled from packs!). The toppstown was free.

The next day, I went to my usual card store, Pastime Cards and Collectables. I bought this Youk card as well as a few packs. If you spend more than ten dollars, you get entered in a raffle for a $10 gift card, but I have never won. These are the highlights.

Hey guys! I have not been able to post in a while do to school work and being away. So anyways, I am going to break the last couple of weeks into a few different posts, all will be up by toninght. This post is going to be for maildays I have gotten. I am expecting more later this week.

Happy Easter, everyone! Just a quick post since today is a family day. I got some cards for Easter, and I'll get some scans ASAP. The lack of posting lately has been unfortunate due to hectic schedules between 20youksox and I,but after this holiday, we'll be posting regularly again. Thanks guys, and Happy Easter.

Top 10 MiLB Hats

I was recently looking at MiLB hats, and realized how cool some of them are so I thought it would be fun to share my top 10 MiLB hats. Minor league hats are really neat because they often showcase the history of the cities they play in like you will see in some of the hats below. I also like that they are much more colorful and creative the MLB hats (well the Miami Marlins hat a pretty colorfull and strange). Here they are!

10) Mahoning Valley Scrapers

9) Jamestown Jammers

8) Bowling Green Hot Rods

7) Quad City River Bandits

6) Everett Auquasox

5) Charlotte Stone Crabs

4) Great Lakes Loons

Winston- Salem Dash

Cedar Rapids Kernals

1) Las Vegas 51's

Hopefully you guys think that these hats are cool. The Las Vegas 51's hat is a hat I actually own and wear adn I am working on getting a Cedar Rapids Kernals hat. I would love to see other peoples top 10 lists if you would like to post them in the coment section below!

New Blog Header

Hey, everyone. I decided looking at the same header every day was pretty boring, so I made a new one with the glorious wonder that is paint. I just took some pictures of hobby boxes or packs as my background, and used lettermen cards for the title. I think it's, but that's just my opinion.

Maildays, Technology, and a Box Break

I finally received my Million Card Givaway cards... and they arrived in MINT condition (haha, not really). The 55 Bob Keegan has bad corners, creases, stains, paperloss, and chipping. If you look at the back, you can see the card is actually peeling apart. On a lighter note, I received these Youkilis cards in the mail today. FYI, the superfractor looks soooooooooooo much better in person.

I also went to Newport, Rhode Island where I hoped to go to a card store. So, I went to 3 different card stores! However, they were all out of bussiness (just my luck). So, I went to Walmart to pick up some packs, and this is what I found. A 2011 Topps Value box! Inside each box, there are 5 packs of 2011 Topps Retail, and 2 packs of 2011 Topps Heritage Hobby. I was so surprised when I pulled this auto! The odds of pulling an auto are 1:303, plus this auto is on card and sells for about $30.

Has anybody heard about the new "video trading cards"? Panini, and Upper Deck have both released images for trading cards with a screen that will play a video. I prefer the Panini model because quite frankly, the Upper Deck model looks like a box, or something you would get out of a happy meal. Panini's are also unique because it will show a video of the player signing your card. Although these cards are neat, my only concerns are how thick are these cards, and what happens when the battery dies?

Topps Lineage Vs. Topps Total...

Hey, everyone. Does anyone find it weird that Topps seems to be recycling designs from the past? Look at both pictures below, and try to tell me this is coincidence.

Another resounding example of this atrocity is in 2002 Topps Post Cereal Cards and 2010 Topps...the evidence speaks for itself.

A Rant, and A Pedroia Custom

Here is the custom, and here comes the rant. Topps has horrible customer service. I am furious with the way they are treating the Million Card Giveaway. First of all, they charged us to ship cards that we won, and already paid for the packs they were in. Not to mention most of it was 80's and 90's crap. I got a couple of cards worth shipping, so I reluctantly paid the shipping charges. Now, you probably think I am going to say my cards arrived in horrible condition, but no. They have not arrived at all after I PAID to have them shipped to me more than a month ago. Topps Million Card Givaway was a waste of my time, and now they are putting the crap cards you didn't want in their Diamond Givaway. Just an FYI, there will be another rant to complain about the condition if I ever get them.

My First Superfractor! A UD Comeback!?

This is my first superfractor ever!!! I have never seen one in person, but I think it will look really cool. When I bid on this card, I thought I was going to lose, but it actually only went up to about half of my max bid! I can't wait to get it in the mail. Also, Upper deck has released preview images of the new 2011 Ginter Champions. Is Upper Deck making a comeback!?

I also had a mailday yesterday with this Kevin Youkilis auograph...
